"Extortionately priced piece of foam"

Review date: 08/11/2011

"This is a thin piece of dense foam that goes between the car seat base and the car seat itself. Britax say its required for BMWs so we bought it unseen. It is extortionately priced for what it is and i cannot see what it does other than prevent the car seat leather from rubbing on the seat base. If…"

"Easy installation,"

Review date: 18/04/2011

"Bought this on the recommendation for our type of car. Only thing I would say is that it is quite hard, and wondered if it shouldnt be installed with the original car seat pad on top of the performance pad? But no complaints from my little one."

"[...] pricey!"

Review date: 22/11/2010

"A very simple piece of foam that is required for our car when installing a Britax car seat. Cant believe Britax charge so much for it! Cant use the car seat without it though so what can you say!"

"Required for BMW cars per Britax website"

Review date: 25/08/2010

"bought this as Britax say it is required to meet safety standards for BMW cars. Seems a bit of a con and I think it should come with the carseat as its a bit of padding that probably costs 50p to make. I dont really see how it adds anything to the carseat. However Im not going to take the risk."

"Britax Duo Isofix Performance Pad"

Review date: 20/04/2010

"Interesting item,[$] for a piece of hard foam which slots in under the material of the car seat for your baby to sit on. Apparently a shock absorber and safety feature so I cannot argue with that. Never the less rather expensive for what it is and Britax have a license to exploit our parental…"

"Why?!"

Review date: 26/01/2010

"Why is this piece of foam so expensive and required for BMWs? It probably costs 10p to produce and we are charged 1000% more for this and I still cant find a practical reason why this is required for certain cars. I have purchased it for the same reason everyone else has. The manufacturer cannot…"

"Why?!"

Review date: 13/07/2009

"At a complete loss as why this pad is required on seats fitted to Minis, BMWs & Mitsibushi Colts... all it is a medium density shaped pad that sits under your babys bum... how does that make the seats use safer in crash tests?! Not convinced re requirement (VERY questionable) but not risking my…"

"Recommended for BMW Z4"

Review date: 05/12/2008

"Wasnt quite sure why needed. Britax recommended as apparently chassis ride can be hard on BMWs so guess it is for passenger comfort. Easy to fit - just popped under the fabric cover of the chair. Just seems to give a bit of extra padding."

"Why do you need this?"

Review date: 06/08/2008

"Why is this pad necessary? We have a BMW mini, and the Britax Duo isofix seat only gains approval with this pad. However, I fail to see what difference it makes to the seat!! Have used it only to comply with Britax guidelines, would be useful to know what this is actually for!!!!"
