Does the job!Review date: 02/02/2012

"We bought this to block off the kitchen area from our crawling baby in our open plan kitchen/living room. Although the kitchen units are a funny shape so it doesn't fit perfectly it certainly acts as a barrier and keeps our little one away when cooking. It is low enough for us to step over it during the day and easy to remove when he has gone to bed!"

"I'm still trying to figure out how to fold it away...but then I'm sure once I've mastered it (like the travel cot) it'll become a breeze! This gate is so easy to quickly put up if you don't want the littlies in your way while making dinner, or need them to not have access to a certain area. We aren't using it for traveling as yet, but I can really see the benefit of having this gate with us if we did. Really glad that we bought it, even though it was a bit confusing on the initial set up."

"The gate fits brilliantly in the opening of one of our patio doors, also in our little 'uns doorway. Easily removed and folded. The only bit that I would say was difficult to use was the button on the telescopic poles, you have to jiggle the bars to move it otherwise you end up with painful indents in your thumbs."

Pros:Lightweight

"We have had this product for 3 days and have struggled to work out how to use it. I have managed to fix it into the doorway but my twin girls have got through it several times by knocking it down. It seems secure at first but is not robust. I am not happy with it at all and would not trust it. The instructions are difficult to understand."

Good PurchaseReview date: 16/02/2011

"Using it at the kitchen door only when our 7 month crawler is up and about. Our cats hate it but it keeps our little crawler out of the kitchen and away from the cat bowls! Maybe not the best product for a high traffic area but great when you don't want a permanent fixture. When initially setting it up in the door frame, the childproof button to extend the telescope pole and getting the red/yellow indicators correct was a little bit tricky. I don't know if I'd use it at the top of a staircase but maybe I'm just a paranoid 1st time mum. Overall = Happy."

Useful for visits from granddaughterReview date: 23/01/2011
By Grandparent to 13-month old Verified Reviewer from Surrey on 23/01/2011
Pros:Lightweight, Easily Stowed, Compact
Best Uses:Stairs

Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

"Initial construction easy; deconstructing found the button to reduce length of main bar at top very difficult to engage. Entirely suitable for our granddaughter when visiting. No screws into walls although there is an option to screw plastic cups into wall to engage the pressure pads if desired."

"Needed this for grandchildren visiting from abroad and didn`t want a screw fixed one as it`s only likely to be needed a couple of times. [...] after a bit of experimenting I found it easy to fit on landing, stairs and doorways. Only drawback for me is the quick release handle: with only one button to push in order to lift it it didn`t take long for my mechanically-minded grandson (not yet 2) to work it out so we had to add extra toddler-proofing making it not so easy for adults."
